Operating problem
SPL's ambition to become the National Champion in ground logistics was running ahead of its operations. Data and technology were under-used, customer-experience metrics were declining, and revenue growth had slowed. SPL needed process improvements across commercial, operational, and customer-experience domains at the same time, but it did not yet have the in-house AI capability to deliver them at scale.
Intervention
Together with SPL, we established a Center of Excellence for AI structured around three pillars: high-impact use cases, production-grade technology platforms, and teams trained to run them. The CoE used AI to drive operational efficiency, customer-experience gains, and revenue growth through a phased roadmap of Improve, Enhance, Transform. Delivery ran out of an embedded team with senior solution architecture, AI engineering, and delivery leadership reporting jointly to SPL leadership and our program lead. Honest reviews were built into the cadence. What worked the first time was scaled. What did not was redesigned.
Measured change
A standing AI capability inside SPL, operated by SPL's own teams with our teams alongside them. Demonstrable operational gains across commercial, operations, and customer-experience domains. A growing portfolio of high-impact use cases delivered against a phased roadmap that has held over multiple quarters. The CoE is now a model SPL applies to other institutional partners across the Group.
Transfer / operate model
The CoE now acts as a reusable model SPL can apply with other institutional partners across the Group.
Accountability line
SPL leadership and Infinite PL program leadership through a joint embedded team.
Commercial, operations, and customer-experience gains across a growing AI use-case portfolio.
Honest review cadence: scale what worked, redesign what did not, keep roadmap decisions visible.
AI moved from ambition into standing capability operated inside SPL.
Track record
Aligning AI with strategic objectives
AI was the lens through which operational improvements were prioritized, not an initiative on the side.
Driving immediate and long-term value
The phased approach delivered short-term operational wins while building the platform for long-term transformation.
Building an AI-driven culture
The CoE built capability and expertise in AI across the SPL teams that came into contact with it.
Reshaping the future of logistics
Made SPL a reference case in the region for AI applied to daily logistics operations.
